I’m sure all of you have figured out by now that I am that crazy animal lady who is always getting new pets. So of course when I found out we were going to be in lock down, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to train a new puppy. I now have a long-haired dachshund as part of my ever-growing zoo! His name is Scrappy, like from Scooby-Doo, even though they are Great Danes and he will only grow to be 12 pounds.
I forgot how much work training a puppy was! He wakes up at least once in the hours of 2:00am-4:00am. He then is up for the day 15 minutes BEFORE my alarm clock goes off, so needless to say he is now my alarm clock. Not only does he wake me up in the morning, but he makes sure to jump on Beef to wake her up as well – she gets very annoyed by this. When he is ready to be awake, he wants everyone to be!
Crate training has gone well on his end. I put him in the crate a few hours a day so he gets comfortable with it. My intention was to have him sleep in the crate at night until he was a little older, but he is just too cute when he cuddles up with Beef and falls asleep in my bed!
Enjoy a spam of puppy pictures, which will hopefully brighten all your days in lock down!
